Current document in this lineage: RFC 5378 — Rights Contributors Provide to the IETF Trust
In plain English — editorial summary, not part of the RFC
This document updates RFC 3978 "IETF Rights in Contributions" to recognize that the IETF Trust is now the proper custodian of all IETF-related intellectual property rights. This document does not constrain how the IETF Trust exercises those rights. This document specifies an Internet Best Current Practices for the Internet Community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements.

About this page
The document record above — title, authors, date, status, stream, area, relationships, DOI and errata — is imported verbatim from the public RFC Editor index. The “in plain English” section is editorial: written by The metasystema editorial team, not part of the RFC. Where the two differ, the RFC text governs.
Last checked against the RFC Editor index on . RFCs are never revised after publication; changes are issued as new documents.
